Books and Stuff

Sunday night after a couple hours rest from Breakaway, I travelled downtown to visit my friend Wes, who is also from Oklahoma. We ate some stew that his neighbor made, and then drove across town to see one of my friends play a show at Schuba's. I decided I was going to sleep on his couch so I could get up the next morning and hang out down in the Bucktown Wicker Park area, so I did. I went to probably my favorite coffee shop in the entire world called Filter and read for a couple hours.

I love being downtown so much. I wish so badly I could live down there. There are a ton of people my age and I think it would be a great place to do ministry.
Anyways I finished reading the autobiography of Bob Newhart while I was there. I really enjoy him ,he is so dry and witty. In the last chapter he talked about the importance of humor and it really resonated with me. He said, "Comedy can help us make it past something very painful, like death. Laughter gives us distance. It allows us to step back from an event over which we have no control, deal with it, and move on with our lives." I would recommend reading it, you know if you like books.
I start reading Bob Dylan's autobiography again last night. I actually started it 2 years ago but for some reason stopped and never started again. I am going to finish this time, yes I am.
