Music and Memories

What is it about music that can take you back in time? Sometimes it's to a sad place, sometimes it's to a great memory, and sometimes it's a place you thought you forgotten. When I listen to the album Running on Empty by Jackson Browne, I feel like I am in the back seat of my dad's grey Chevy Lumina with my brother riding down I64 in Kentucky. When I listen to Nick Drake's Bryter Layter album I feel like I am in my bed room in my first college apartment looking out the window watching squirrels. It's weird stuff. I wonder if the music I am listening to right now will someday bring me back to Chicago? Probably so.
