Weird Times

These are some weird times, knowing that I am leaving and all. It still doesn't feel real yet, I don't think it will until I get in my car to drive home. Right now I am in the Elevate offices pretty much by myself. The rest of the staff has gone on a two day staff retreat, and I am kind of sad. Elevate has been my family for four years and I am really going to miss it. It feels weird not being with them while they plan the next ministry season.

Last weekend was one of the best weekends I have had in Chicago. Arlington Heights had a festival called Frontier Days two blocks from my house with carnival games, good food and live music. There was a great Beatles cover band on the 4th, and the lead singer from Styx played on the 5th. It was pretty surreal hearing him play I'm Sailing Away from my living room. The best part of the weekend was spending time with my friends. I really love them and I will miss them too. I am very thankful for the community that's been created in Arlington Heights this last year.
